The GET - Del Viento | MATERIAL SOUNDS
The GETis an electro-folk band from New Orleans, founded by Nicaraguan singer-songwriter and guitarist George Elizondo. With a unique approach that fuses electronic music, folk, art rock, and post-punk, the band has stood out for its ability to blend acoustic instruments with beats and synthesizers, creating a distinctive and experimental sound. The GET’s lineup includes Chris Beroes-Haigis on cello and effects, and Vivi del Rio on backing vocals, keyboards, drum machine, synthesizers, and effects. Together, the trio explores a vast sonic universe that spans genres and styles ranging from Latin music to electronic avant-garde.
Elizondo’s Nicaraguan and Cuban heritage is a clear influence on The GET’s songs, which are written in both English and Spanish. This allows them to merge Latin American cultural and musical elements with the sonic experimentation that characterizes the New Orleans scene. Through their lyrics, the band conveys a deep sense of identity and connection to their roots, while also drawing from a wide range of international influences such as Gustavo Cerati, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Radiohead, Juana Molina, Sybille Baier, and James Blake, among others.
The GET won the 2024/2025 Artist Residency at the Material Institute in New Orleans, a non-profit arts center dedicated to creatively supporting artists by providing shared spaces for expression in the fields of music, fashion design, and gardening. The fellowship includes the full recording, mixing, and mastering of an album, as well as a professional live video.
The GET is currently finishing their debut album, El Paraíso, which is expected to be released in early 2026. With this new project, the band aims to continue expanding its musical horizons and solidifying its place as one of the most innovative acts in the contemporary music scene.

VIVI DEL RIO
Piano, keyboards, and vocals
Vivi del Rio is a Barcelona-born, Madrid-raised artist, composer, pianist, and music producer whose work bridges continents, genres, and traditions.
Classically trained in Madrid and New York under the guidance of legendary pianists Noemí Novara and Sofia Rosoff, Vivi also immersed herself in flamenco piano studies with the renowned Diego Amador. In 2012, she relocated to New Orleans, earning a Master’s degree in Jazz from the University of New Orleans and co-founding the independent label Bubble Bath Records.
Her career spans collaborations with a diverse array of artists including Jordan Prince, Ted Joyner of The Generationals, Grammy-winning producer and vocalist Jamison Ross, choreographer Diogo de Lima, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and acclaimed jazz singer Cindy Scott. She has also spearheaded original projects such as the alternative rock band Biglemoi and, since 2024, the electro-folk trio The GET.
An active force in the vibrant New Orleans music scene, Vivi is currently preparing her debut solo project. Known for her multidisciplinary vision and fearless sonic experimentation, she continues to carve out a distinctive space as an innovative and creative voice within the city’s rich musical tradition.

GEORGE ELIZONDO
Guitar, bass, and vocals
George Elizondo is a singer-songwriter, bassist, guitarist, and composer raised in Managua, Nicaragua.
In 2006, he moved to New Orleans, quickly becoming an active and prominent figure in the city’s vibrant music scene. His songwriting draws deep inspiration from iconic Latin American artists such as Silvio Rodríguez, Luis Alberto Spinetta, and Gustavo Cerati.
As lead vocalist and songwriter, George founded the Latin indie rock band Nebula Rosa and the alternative rock band Biglemoi. His bands have shared the stage with acclaimed acts including Boogarins, Making Movies, and Incubus. George has also collaborated with Grammy-winning artist Jamison Ross, Nigel Hall of Lettuce, and Isaac Eady, drummer for Tedeschi Trucks Band, among others.
With his distinctive style and masterful songwriting, George Elizondo continues to forge an authentic artistic voice that resonates with audiences around the world.

CHRIS BEROES-HAIGIS
Cello
Chris Beroes-Haigis was born and raised in New York City, where he began his musical journey at an early age. He started learning guitar before studying classical cello at Bard College in New York and the University of Texas at El Paso.
In 2021, Chris relocated to New Orleans, where he continues to develop his career as a composer, arranger, producer, and live performer. His music spans a wide range of styles, from composed works to free improvisation.
In addition to his solo projects, Chris is an active member of the band The GET and maintains strong ties to the New Orleans music scene, regularly collaborating with local artists such as Chris Christy, Sarah Quintana, Semaj & The Blues Experiment, Gabrielle Fischler, and Martin Masakowski.
Throughout his career, Chris Beroes-Haigis has demonstrated remarkable versatility and a dedication to exploring the sonic possibilities of both the cello and guitar. This has established him as an original and prolific figure within the vibrant New Orleans music community.
Paraíso
El
In their debut album El Paraíso, the electro-folk band The GET bursts onto the scene with a unique sonic vision that fuses folk, rock, pop, classical music, and electronic sounds in an emotional journey as delicate as it is explosive.
With a rich and eclectic sonic palette, the album moves through nine songs that shift between introspection and chaos, exploring everything from the deeply personal —such as addiction and the struggle to break self-destructive cycles— to existential questions about life, death, and the decay of society and the planet.
El Paraíso is not a place, but a shifting state, full of beauty, fury, and vulnerability. A debut record unafraid to venture into darkness with raw honesty and profound sensitivity. El Paraíso is set to be released in early 2026.
